Today the photo challenge word was Earth. I knew many people would be posting pics of beautiful earthly scenes – landscapes, seascapes, aerial views. And they did. They were gorgeous and made me wish I could visit all those fabulous places in our world. But I wanted to do something different. I remembered the day the first photos of Pluto were released to the world. Earlier that day, I found a yellow, earth-stained plastic ball in our yard as I worked on our landscaping project. To me, it looked like Pluto. And so this photo. I call it “Pluto Collides with Earth.”
Photo Prompt: Earth
Writing Prompt: There’s so much here to inspire you. Dirt: Dishing it, digging it, deleting it from your home, car, clothes. Pluto: Uh-yut the dog who’s Donald’s friend, the planet-not-a-planet, the ball that’s not at all a planet. Discoveries: archeology expeditions, finding lost things, finding buried treasures. Unwanted discoveries: a secret revealed, a hidden thing found by the one person who should not have found it, a place you unfortunately find yourself in. Or simply, your little corner of earth, home, the place that nourishes your soul. What else does this inspire? Have fun. Go. Write.
