Leave it to me to turn today’s word – reading – into writing. My photo below is all about writing. It’s a book I created in cahoots with women in my writing group. We had spent a morning writing in an art gallery where one woman from our group, Lucy Mueller Young, was exhibiting her paintings and sculptures. This book includes the rough drafts of what we had written at the gallery, along with photos of the work Lucy had exhibited. The book, created as a keepsake of that morning, was given to Lucy before she moved to Vermont.

Photo prompt: Reading

Writing prompt: What does reading turn into for you? The reading of a will might turn you from pauper to tax-bracket hopper. Reading an obit? Or a David Mamet play? Or a funny picture book to a giggly child? Think about the reading experiences you’ve had and how it changed you (for the moment or forever). Pick one and let your main character go there. Or write a poem about the experience. Go. Write. Have fun.
